It leaves a durable and water-resistant seal that is not prone to scratching or chipping.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNot only does it add warmth and depth to all woods, including oak, beech, teak, mahogany and veneered surfaces, the plant oils also derived from sustainable sources and are used largely to replace crude oil components used in synthetic resins.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDuring preparation, the surface must be clean, smooth, dry and free from wax, dust and contaminants. Apply liberally with a clean rag or brush and wipe off the surplus oil after a few minutes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe first coat should be applied liberally with a brush and allowed to dry without wiping. Nibs may be removed from the final coat by applying the oil with a scouring pad, rubbing in the direction of the grain, then wiping away the surplus with clean rags or paper kitchen towels. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBare wood requires three coats and some need sanding between additional layers. Drying time is around 2-3 hours, depending on temperature and humidity. Extra coats may be added once the previous coat is dry.
